For the first device installation, iOS users are required to input the Mac ID of the device into the app. The unique Mac ID can be found on the device and input without any colon. You can also send in a request via the help form in the app to verify your Mac ID.
Chances are you have a Smart Alternator System on board your car. Smart alternator is also known as variable voltage alternator. The smart alternator system allows the vehicle to control the output voltage from the alternator based on vehicle operating conditions to reduce electrical load and in turn mechanical load on the engine by the alternator. Unlike smart alternator, the traditional fixed voltage alternator does not fluctuate the voltage supply.
When the car is driving, the smart alternator voltage fluctuate. As there are many makers of the smart alternator system, each fluctuation vary. As some smart alternator fluctuates the voltage up and down during a normal drive, the app may report messages, such as “Engine ON”, “Engine SHUT OFF”, “Crank to test battery” …etc, while the car engine is driving normally.
Most likely your car has a Smart Alternator System, and have over-specification battery against a smaller engine. This configuration is common among electronic control to a turbocharged engine. Because the charge taken to crank the engine is not high, leaving a health charge after each crank. The Smart Alternator System will not charge the car battery to its fullness to conserve fuel. This healthy status remains until your battery is older and weaker. As then, the voltage drop each crank will be lower and it will trigger the Smart Alternator System to kick in the full charging. The app will start to advise on your battery normally.
In other words, there too many designs in the market to determine which configuration to register all the cranks. However, when the battery began to grow weak, its behaviour will all be the same despite which builds, which models, which configuration. Car+ App will be able to provide the proper advice when drivers need them the most.
Warranty Policy
This Product is warranted for 6 months from the date of registration. This warranty period only applies to Products manufactured by or for Autoplus Tech that can be identified by the original “Car+” trademark, trade name or logo affixed to them, and purchased from online marketplace, authorised dealers, distributors or resellers. If a valid claim is made on a valid warranty during the Warranty Period, Autoplustech will, upon sight of valid supporting information (i.e. dated proof of purchase, email, MAC address and cause of failure/defect) provide a replacement device; no monetary refund is provided. A valid claim can only be made if the user had registered the device. No replacement will be provided if there is no profile registered with the corresponding MAC address given.
This warranty only covers the defects in material, design and workmanship of the hardware components of the Product as originally supplied.
For minor imperfections within design specifications and that do not materially alter functionality of the Product are not considered a defect under this warranty. This warranty does not cover abuse, mishandling, improper installation, operation or maintenance, use of wrong electrical supply or voltage.
